Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to easily insert one or more new tasks between existing tasks in Microsoft Project:

1. Begin by choosing the task where you want to insert the new task. This should be the task above which Microsoft Project will insert the new task. This step is crucial as it sets the position for the insertion.
2. Now comes the magic! Simply press the “Insert” key on your computer keyboard. Once you’ve hit the Insert key, Microsoft Project will promptly add a new blank task row, ready for you to enter the details of your new task.

Did you know you can insert multiple tasks in one go? It’s a time-saving trick. Here’s how:

1. Select as many existing tasks as the number of new tasks you want to insert. Be sure that the first task selected is the task above which Microsoft Project will insert the new tasks.
2. With all these tasks selected, press the “Insert” key on your keyboard.

Voila! Microsoft Project will automatically insert the desired number of blank rows corresponding to the number of tasks you selected. If you selected five tasks, for example, Microsoft Project will automatically insert five new blank rows for you. This feature saves you valuable time by streamlining the insertion process.
